Former Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh administered the oath of Pro-tem Speaker to newly elected senior-most member of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Bansidhar Bhagat at 10 am on Monday. The oath ceremony began at 10 am in a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan, in which the oath was administered. Caretaker Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and senior officials including the Chief Secretary were present on the occasion.
Dhami was born in Tundi village of Pithoragarh district. His native village is Harkhola, Pithoragarh. His family moved to Tundi village where he studied till 5th standard, after that he moved to Nagla Terai Bhabar, Khatima. His father was in the army and had retired as Subedar.
