She began her career in the 1970s by co-founding a chain of jeans/fashion stores called People’s Place in New York. He began designing his own preppy clothing in the 1980s. The company later expanded into women’s clothing and various luxuries such as perfumes and went public in 1992. Tommy Hilfiger’s designs merged with well-known subcultures in all media.
